The Gist: 15-year-old Andrew Jackson Greer went missing in Michigan in 1979. It has taken almost 30 years for investigators to conclusively determine what happened to the teen. DNA testing has revealed that Greer’s DNA matches a ‘John Doe’ who was buried in Macon.

A Pauper’s Grave: Greer was found dead in Macon and was not identified. He was buried in a pauper’s grave in Macon’s Evergreen Cemetery. His body was exhumed and tested.

According to the Bibb County District Attorney’s office, arrangements are being made to transport Greer’s body back to Michigan.
