Abrams acknowledges Kemp victory but doesn't concede

Stacey Abrams has ended her campaign and her legal efforts to challenge the election results.

However, Abrams refused to concede on moral grounds. “I acknowledge that former secretary of state Brian Kemp will be certified as the victor in the 2018 gubernatorial election… Let’s be clear. This is not a speech of concession. Because concession means to acknowledge that an action is right, true or proper. As a woman of conscience and faith I cannot concede that. But my assessment is the law currently allows no further viable remedy.” Abrams said.

Abrams addressed voters for the first time since Election Night at a 5 p.m. press conference Friday.

During the speech she announced the creation of Fair Fight Georgia, an organization that will be devoted to reforming what Abrams calls Georgia’s “system of suppression,” vowing to file a massive lawsuit seeking to reform what she calls the “gross mismanagement” of the 2018 gubernatorial race.
