Suspect in Rockmart homicides arrested in Indiana

A man who is wanted in connection with two double homicides in Rockmart fled Georgia and was taken into custody in Indiana.

A manhunt began for 27-year-old Daylon Delon Gamble last week after four victims were found dead at two different locations Jan. 24.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Marshal’s Service’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force received information that indicated Daylon Delon Gamble had fled the state.

They contacted the U.S. Marshal’s Service’s Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force in Indianapolis, IN. Gamble was taken into custody in Indiana without incident.

The GBI was asked by the Rockmart Police Department to assist in two double homicide cases that occurred Jan. 24. At about 8:01 pm, Polk County 911 reported two separate double homicides, one on Williamson Street and one on Rome street in Rockmart.  

The victims at the Williamson Street location were 48-year old Helen Rose Mitchell and 19-year-old Jaequnn Davis, both of whom died. 24-year-old Peerless Brown was hospitalized during the incident.

On Rome street the victims have been identified as 24-year-old Arkeyla Perry and 26-year-old Dadrian Cummings.
