Dunwoody police arrest 32 in commercial sex trafficking operation

In an ongoing effort to address commercial sex trafficking and the sexual exploitation of children, the Dunwoody Police Department, working in conjunction with the FBI Metro Atlanta Child Exploitation Task Force and the Gwinnett County Police Department VICE Unit, conducted a multi-day undercover commercial sex trafficking operation within the city of Dunwoody the week of January 28th, 2019. Numerous arrests were made, including:

• Pimping – 9 arrests
• Human Trafficking – 1 arrest
• Prostitution – 19 arrests
• Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes – 1 arrest
• Pandering – 2 arrests

This was an extensive operation that involved multiple agencies. Through the department’s continued participation in the task force, police were able to identify and rescue two victims from sexual servitude.

“The goal of operations such as these is to first and foremost rescue any children or young adults who are victims of sex trafficking. We also want to remove those profiting from commercial sex trafficking from our streets by putting them in jail,” said Dunwoody Police Chief Billy Grogan.
