13 Family Friendly events in Lilburn in 2019

The City of Lilburn will offer two new events this summer, in addition to returning favorites such as the Sparkle in the Park celebration on July 4 and the city’s Rock the Park concerts. Get your blankets and lawn chairs ready to enjoy concerts, food trucks, and more in Lilburn City Park!

Lilburchaun Parade is a new St. Patrick’s Day themed event being held on Saturday, March 16. This free event kicks off with a walking parade around the field at Lilburn City Park. Wagons, strollers, and leashed pets are welcome. After the parade, prizes will be awarded for the best leprechaun look-alikes, also known as Lilburchauns! There will be a variety of entertainment along with a children’s craft activity. The event begins at 4 p.m. and the walking parade is scheduled to start at 4:15 p.m.

In honor of National Arbor Day, the city will host its first City of Lilburn Tree Walk on Saturday, April 27. Professionals will lead attendees on a guided tour through Lilburn City Park and Camp Creek Greenway, identifying and discussing native trees. This free event is open to all ages. Guests may register in advance or at the event.

Lilburn Food Truck Tuesdays are back with an expanded schedule starting on Tuesday, May 7. Guests can purchase dinner from one of the many food trucks and listen to local bands in Lilburn City Park every Tuesday during the month of May. Food Truck Tuesdays will occur the second Tuesday of the month, June through October.

Rock the Park is back with two exciting concerts planned for this summer. Yacht Rock Schooner will be bringing the classic sounds of the late ’70s and early ’80s to the park on June 1. On September 7, Head Games – A Tribute to Foreigner is scheduled to perform. Admission is free.

Fireworks will light up the sky at Sparkle in the Park on July 4. GLOW the Show Band will perform during the event at the band shell. Sparkle in the Park will also include a variety of concessions, bounce houses, and more!
