Johnny’s Hideaway in Buckhead is celebrating its 40th anniversary on Thursday, April 25, and in honor of the big occasion, the iconic Atlanta nightclub is revealing the top 40 hits that have kept loyal patrons on the dance floor since 1979.
“There’s nothing that makes me happier than seeing our guests enjoy the dance floor,” says Johnny’s owner Chris D’Auria. “It’s pretty special to be able to watch our older patrons showing off their swing and shag moves and our younger guests dancing with friends, all in one place.”
D’Auria’s approach to entertaining guests at his legendary nightclub that attracts both the over-40 crowd and late-night bar hoppers in their 20s and 30s starts with longtime DJ Jack Pena (aka DJ Happy Jack). Pena is the man behind the irresistible tunes that keep the dance floor packed until the wee hours. He handpicks popular music from every decade and knows exactly what both millennials and the over-50 set want to hear. Straight from Pena’s turntable are the Johnny’s Hideaway Top 40 Hits (playlist also available on Spotify):
