Want to adopt a pet? Come to Zoo Atlanta on April 27

ATLANTA — Zoo Atlanta and the Atlanta Humane Society will team up on the third-annual ZooPaws pet adoption event Saturday, April 27. The community event will take place in Grant Park, just outside the gates of Zoo Atlanta, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

More than 60 dogs found forever homes at ZooPaws in 2018, with over 100 adoptable animals of all sizes, ages and breeds expected to be available for adoption at the 2019 event. In addition to the Atlanta Humane Society, participating rescue agencies include LifeLine Animal Project, Best Friends Atlanta, Tri-State Humane Society, Gwinnett Jail Dogs Program, Carroll County Animal Shelter, Walton Animal Guild, Clayton County Animal Control, Humane Society of Valdosta-Lowndes County, Lee County Humane Society, Two Tailz Rescue, and Wags and Wiggles Dog Rescue.

Vendors at the family-friendly event will include ATLimals, Big Daddy’s Biscuits, Furlosophy Mobile Pet Spa, King of Pops, Pet Paradise Resort, Rachael Hale – Animal Photography, Rescue Dog Café and Yumbii Food Truck.

Pets are not permitted inside Zoo Atlanta (service animals are permitted), and for health and safety reasons, personal pets will not be permitted inside the ZooPaws event. The Atlanta Humane Society will facilitate meet-and-greets, outside the designated event space, for guests interested in introducing a personal pet to a potential adoptee.

Adoption fees and policies will be stipulated by the Atlanta Humane Society and each participating adoption agency. While stroller parking will be designated, strollers, bicycles and motorized vehicles will not be allowed inside the adoption area.

ZooPaws is a rain-or-shine event. There is no charge to attend. To learn more, visit zooatlanta.org/zoopaws or atlantahumane.org/zoopaws.
