Crime Prevention Tip: Watch your purse when you're eating at a restaurant

BUFORD — Gwinnett County police are searching for a stealthy pickpocket who struck at the Bonefish Grille on Buford Drive.

Police say a woman had her purse hanging from the back of her chair while she dined last week. The thief, seated behind her, took the wallet from inside the purse.

As stealthy as the thief was in snatching the wallet, she was not as stealth-like when she got caught on camera at a local grocery store where police say she used the victim’s card to purchase more than $1,500 worth of gift cards.

The suspect is a Hispanic female seen on camera wearing a white linen shirt (tied in front) and blue pants.

Police are asking anyone who has information to share in this case to contact detectives at 770-513-5300. To remain anonymous, tipsters should contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or visit www.stopcrimeATL.com
