Severe weather is expected in Coastal Georgia today

It was an early start to showers and isolated storms for those along the coast today, especially for the Golden Isles, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain will shift inland into the afternoon with the best rain chances west of Highway 301 toward I-75 corridor after 4 pm.

Localized flooding and some gusty wind damage are the major storm hazards today.

The strongest part of the storms are expected between 4 and 10 p.m.

The storm is expected to produce winds of about 58 miles per hour and hail.
