Mobile home fire in Hart County ruled arson

ROYSTON — A fire investigator with the Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office has determined that a house fire in Hart County was intentionally set. The fire occurred around 6:40 a.m. on Monday, July 1.

The single-wide mobile home on Joe Findley Road in Royston suffered major damage from the blaze.

The residence is 25 years old and was 1,200 square feet at the time of the fire. It is believed that the fire started in the back left side of the home. It has been unoccupied for about one year.

Investigators are asking anyone with knowledge about the fire to call the Arson Hotline at 1‐800‐282‐5804.

Rewards are offered of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the arsonist. Calls are taken 24 hours a day and callers can choose to remain anonymous.
