Hurricane Dorian is still days away from making landfall, but Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has already declared a state of emergency in the counties expected to be hardest hit by the storm.
Ahead of Hurricane Dorian, Kemp has issued two Executive Orders. One executive order declares a State of Emergency in twelve counties — Brantley, Bryan, Camden, Charlton, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Pierce, and Wayne.
The second executive order suspends restrictions on hours of commercial vehicle operation and vehicle height, weight, and length thresholds to assist in storm preparation, response, and recovery.
At 1 p.m. Thursday, Kemp and state emergency management officials held a press conference that was streamed via Facebook Live about Hurricane Dorian and storm preparation.
