Missing 74-year-old Georgia woman found safe

Update: According to the Gwinnett County Police Department Catherine “Celine” Peavy was located safe at the Sams Club in Athens. She was recently reunited with her family. The original story is below.


GWINNETT COUNTY — Gwinnett Police are searching for a missing elderly person with medical issues. 

Officers responded to a missing person report shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday.

A man reported that his wife, 74-year-old Catherine “Celine” Peavy, had been missing for about an hour. He said that she has medical issues and is allowed to drive, but usually when someone is with her because she can get lost.

Catherine left her residence on Wheat Grass Way in a beige 2003 Acura MDX bearing license plate “PCY 2867.” 

Police say Catherine is a white female, 5’2” tall, 104 pounds, blue eyes, and gray hair. Police are asking anyone who sees her to call 9-1-1 immediately.

The case number is 19-088670.
