The Gist: A road widening project in Gwinnett County will be adding lanes to Duluth Highway.
The Details: The project will widen Duluth Highway/West Pike Street, formerly known as State Route 120, from four to six lanes and add a concrete median between S.R. 316 and Hurricane Shoals that is about a half-mile. Turn lanes will be constructed at key intersections. The plans also call for sidewalks on both sides of the street.
Cost: The Gwinnett County Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Transportation, is managing this project with a construction cost of $3.1 million. Gwinnett is contributing funding from the 2014 SPLOST program for engineering and right of way acquisition.
