Search underway for Georgia man who fired gun at police officers

MONROE — Police in Georgia are searching for a suspect who fired a weapon at police officers after he was served with a warrant Sunday.

According to the City of Monroe Police Dept., officers were attempting to serve a warrant to 29-year-old Donta Rajee Robertson at his residence at Pine Ridge Apartments in Monroe.

Police say after a brief talk with Robertson, he fled on foot behind nearby apartments and fired one shot while he was being pursued by officers. The officers did not return fire and began a search of several apartments in the complex.

Police believe Robertson fled through the wood line to the area of Spring Street where he was last seen. No officers or residents were injured in the incident.

The police department is offering a cash reward for any information leading to Robertson’s arrest.

According to police, Robertson is considered armed and dangerous and residents should not approach him.

Robertson is wanted for aggravated assault against law enforcement and obstruction. Police are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the police department at (770) 267-7576 or through the department’s Facebook page.
